#Showbiz: Lan Pet Pet aghast, over RM10k pots and cookware stolen

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Lan Pet Pet, who was planning to prepare his Nasi Beriani Paipon, was disappointed that his expensive cookware was stolen recently.

"I don't know what to say. All our pots and pans were stolen. Thank you Allah, only You give us strength," he said in a video uploaded on his Instagram account recently.

He intended to conduct his food business in Kulim from Feb 19 to 25 before the unexpected theft put a damper on his plans.

However, the 54-year-old artiste, whose real name is Mazlan Ahmad, promised to remain at the food carnival and prepare his food for visitors later.

"I pray to Allah to make Uncle Lan's Nasi Paipon possible. To the people of Kulim, I will honour my promise but please pray for me and my crew.

"I have already made preparations for the people of Kulim but Allah is testing us. With your prayers, Nasi Beriani Paipon will reach you," he said.

In the comment section, many celebrities including Didie Alias and Yassin of Senario, as well as fans, offered words of comfort and hope.

According to a recent Harian Metro report, Lan said that the theft involved three large 90cm pots that were placed in a shop in Alor Star.

"The shop was closed because my team and I went to conduct our business in Kuantan. The pots cost RM1,200 each. My team has filed a police report.

"Other items that were stolen were the motor for the device that stirs gravy, cables and many more. The estimated loss due to the theft is over RM10,000.

"I'm feeling down. Yesterday, I wanted to fetch a pot because I wanted to begin my business in Kulim today. But when I looked around all the pots were gone," he said in a tearful tone.
