#Showbiz: TV3 gives AJL38 finalists the chance to try out exciting new things

KUALA LUMPUR: TV3 gave the finalists of the 38th edition of Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL38) and the popular show's production the opportunity to try new things by showcasing exciting stunts.

Media Prima Television Networks and Primeworks Studios CEO Nini Yusof said that there were some initial concerns but she was grateful that everything went smoothly during the awards night on Sunday.

"During the discussion stage, the production team presented some performances involving extreme stunts and I was a bit worried at first.

"However, we gave the production team and the artistes a chance to try out something new. Alhamdulillah, during the rehearsals, everything went well.

"Some of the concepts for the show were kept a secret, but in terms of their preparation, there was certainly something quite different on display.

"Congratulations to all of the artistes and their management teams for having the courage to try out something that was quite difficult but very interesting," she said in a Harian Metro report yesterday.

Nini added that TV3 was also satisfied with the jury's decision to name the song Hasrat, composed and sung by Amir Jahari, as the winner of AJL38.

"Overall, we at TV3 are very satisfied with the jury's decision. We feel that the song Hasrat has provided a breath of fresh air to the local music industry," she said.

The AJL38 stage saw a selection of eye-catching concepts presented by the finalists with extraordinary choreographies and stunts that have never been seen on the show's previous editions.

Some of the highlights included Aisha Retno and Aina Abdul flying upwards off the stage with the help of cables, Shiha Zikir performing some tricky choreography on a tall platform and Khai Bahar and Nabila Razali singing up on a high bridge.
