KUALA LUMPUR: In a celebration of independent music, the band Lunar's haunting melody "Pembunuh Malam" was crowned Best Song and Best Pop Song at the Anugerah Lagu Indie 2023.
The event, held at Spacerubix, ESI Grand Hall in Puchong, Selangor, honoured composers Hazeeq Hilman and Muhd Haziq with RM15,000 for Best Song and RM5,000 for Best Pop Song, along with trophies.
Odelia Tirza took the stage with their mesmerizing performance of "Stargazing," earning them the Best Performance award, while LXF's captivating "LXF" clinched Best Hip Hop Song.
Vota's electrifying "Vota" was recognised as Best Rock Song. Each winner received RM5,000 and a trophy.
Adding punk spirit to the mix, Armpunk Sindicate claimed the Terpaling Platinum Cik Song award for their rebellious track "Noisy Punk," earning them a trophy and RM1,000.
This year's edition of the awards showcased 626 songs and garnered an impressive 11,000 votes via www.anugerahlaguindie.com.my, highlighting the vibrant indie music scene's immense talent and passion.
