#Showbiz: Hafidz Roshdi's ex-wife still sends daughter to counsellor for post-divorce trauma

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Hafidz Roshdi's former wife Nurul Shuhada Mat Shukri says she still sends her eldest child Humairah, seven, for regular counselling sessions to help her deal with trauma from her parents' failed marriage.

In a Harian Metro report today, Shuhada, 30, said that she hoped that counselling would help her daughter deal with their situation now and that she should not see her father as someone she should be afraid of.

Shuhada added that she always reminded her daughter to deal with the matter accordingly and that not all men are bad.

"What worried me was that they (Humairah and her brother Umar, four) saw it all happen. So for now, I'm still worried about the impact of the failed marriage on Humairah.

"I also need to explain to her that not everyone has been created the same," she said.

Shuhada added that she always reminded her children to love and respect their father, despite their situation now.

"I told Humairah that while Hafidz and I have gone our separate ways, her relationship with him remains the same and there's nothing that can change that."

She added that although it had been difficult for her to explain to her children, they now understood what had happened, thanks to the professional help she received from the counsellor.

Shuhada met with reporters after the proceeding for the hadhanah claim filed by Hafidz at the Shah Alam Syariah Court earlier today.
