Jin Shin Jyutsu self-help session

PARENTS and caregivers of children and adults with special needs, come join the special Jin Shin Jyutsu self-help session this Saturday, November 11, from 9am to 1pm.

The session will be conducted by Tan Siew Kim, a facilitator and Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner with 17 years of experience.

Tan, previously a staff nurse and midwife for 19 years, became drawn to Jin Shin Jyutsu after attending her first class in New Zealand in 2000. Now a full-time Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner, she gives sessions mainly to special need children and women with cancer and other degenerative illnesses.

The Jin Shin Jyutsu physio-philosophy is an ancient art of harmonising the life energy of the body. This art assists us in balancing our body, mind and spirit.

It uses the gentle pressure touch of the hands to harmonise the "energy" flows within the body and to restore balance. As Jin Shin Jyutsu is an effective tool for alleviating stress, it enhances the body's natural ability to heal and rejuvenate itself.

This sharing session is designed to provide health maintenance tools for children and adults with special needs who need constant attention and supervision.

Participants will learn self-help methods for harmonising the body and mind to help deal with physical and emotional fatigue, anxiety, depression and other disharmonies common to those who live and work with special needs individuals.

It will be held at A-5-6, Wisma Atlas, Bangsar Trade Center (formerly Plaza Pantai), Off Jln Pantai Baru, Kuala Lumpur (hop off at Kerinchi LRT station and walk towards Block A, Wisma Atlas).

Registration fees is RM30 (light snacks will be provided). To register, call Khadijah at 019-3278092 or Irene at 011-23447130. Bring along your own materials for taking notes.
