FOR better protection during this pandemic, 3M has launched its Particulate Respirator 9513 mask.
Made from 3M's proprietary filter media, it filters dust and other particles, while allowing for easy breathing.
The filter media filters at least 95 per cent of airborne particulates such as dirt, dust, sand, vehicle exhaust particles, PM 2.5 and allergens, when used as instructed.
Typical face coverings and surgical masks often fit loosely, leaving gaps between the mask and face. The 3M Particulate Respirator 9513 has a four-layer 3D design that is comfortable, and breathable and features stretchable sidebands with hooks to help hold it tightly to the face and soft, breathable layers for added comfort.
Additionally, an embedded nose clip provides a non-industrial look and feel for work and play.
The respirator includes highly charged microfibres that enhance the capture of airborne particles while allowing for easy breathing for users during seasonal haze, which typically occurs from June to Sept in Malaysia.
"We created this respirator for people to wear wherever they need protection in their daily lives," says 3M consumer health and safety division president, Megan Selby.
This is particularly useful for those who are more likely to be exposed to crowds or dust such as commuters on public transport and motorcyclists.
The 3M Particulate Respirator 9513 features a vertical, flat fold design for easy wear and storage and has a shelf life of five years from its manufacturing date.
