Saluting the heroes of the pandemic

THE Covid-19 pandemic has claimed lives, wrecked economies, and devastated communities around the world.

However, in any adverse crisis, the strength of humanity is fortified and reinforced through individuals who emerge as beacons of hope and inspiration.

In Malaysia, as vulnerable communities fell deeper into despair since the start of the pandemic, there were those whose contributions to this fight held the country together.

From the "White Flag" donors and organisers to delivery riders to those who volunteer their time at vaccination centers. These individuals gave everything they had and continue to do so, to help people around them.

As a result, Dettol is kicking-off its "Dettol Salutes" initiative to acknowledge individuals who inspire the nation with their heroic stories.

The selected individuals will have their images featured on Dettol Liquid Hand Wash bottles.

"We are honoured and proud to be able to prominently showcase these individuals on our products and pay tribute to these Covid-19 warriors. We believe their stories should be told and when shared with the greater community, will spark hope and optimism," says Reckitt Malaysia Singapore and Vietnam cluster marketing director germ protection and hygiene, Raghunandan Srinivasan.

Under this initiative, people are encouraged to head to Dettol's Facebook page and nominate a person they believe is deserving and highlight their efforts in the comments section.

The 15 selected nominees will receive a six months supply of Dettol products worth almost RM500 and have their stories told through the "Dettol Salutes" series.

Each week five "Protector" stories will be posted on the brand's social media platforms.
