PORT DICKSON: As Malaysians of Tionghua ethnic say goodbye to the Year of Rooster and usher in the Year of Earth Dog this evening, the iconic Lexis Hibiscus Hotel here has prepared a special dinner promotion to herald in abundance of luck, good health and prosperity in 2018.
Running for four nights, starting this evening until next Monday (Feb 18), patrons and hotel guests can reunite with family members and close friends to indulge in on a variety of auspicious local and international dishes.
According to Lexis Hotel Group assistant director of communications Jini Sebastian, the hotel director of culinary Chef Ryan Poon and team will be preparing more than 50 sumptuous Chinese New Year dishes to cater to everyone’s appetite at its Roselle Coffee House.
“Lexis Hibiscus Rainbow Yee Sang is a must-have appetiser to celebrate Chinese New Year (CNY),” she highlighted.
Meanwhile, Chef Ryan said he will be introducing Double Boiled Kampung Chicken Soup to the buffet spread.
“Boiled for 12 hours, this light-tasting yet very flavourful savoury village chicken soup is prepared with tonic herbs, and will be a prefect delights for the New Year.
“Another highlight of the CNY menu will be the Chinese Foldover Mantou, served with dainty steamed discs – made of wheat flour – and trio of fillings like roast chicken, Cantonese roast duck and Szechuan jelly fish strips, accompanied by homemade sweet and spicy sauces,” said the chef.
He added that other CNY festive servings will include classic glutinous rice with abalone sauce, longevity noodle, roasted char siew beef brisket, bean curd seafood soup and Szechuan hot and sour soup.
The buffet will also see the usual spread like bread counter, salad bar, cold cuts, cheese platter, vegetables station and barbeque pit.
At the BBQ pit, favourite local delights like chicken and beef satay will also be served.
To cap the evening, patrons can wash it down with a delightful array of CNY desserts like pan-fried Kuih Kapit, black glutinous rice-ball, coconut mousse cake topped with lychee and a selection of CNY cookies.
