#ICYMI JOM! GO: Great adventure in Langkawi for thrill-seekers

Langkawi, the Jewel of Kedah, is an archipelago in northern Malaysia made up of 99 paradise islets.

Tourists come here mainly for the azure beaches and turquoise waters, but do you know that Langkawi is also a great place for the adventurous.

From jetskiing to fox-flying, you and your family can have a thrilling time in Langkawi!

Here's top three of our favourite thrilling adventures in Langkawi.

JETSKI IN THE ANDAMAN

Instead of the usual cruising on the Andaman Sea, why not hop on the jetski.

One of the island's most popular and highly recommended jetski service, the Mega Water Sports Jetski Tours (megawatersports.com) offers a few tours.

Go for the morning Dayang Bunting Island Tour which jets off from Pantai Cenang to visit eight islands.

Among the stops is of course, Pulau Dayang Bunting, Langkawi's second largest uninhabited island.  Part of the Unesco Geopark that is located in the southern part of the main island, Dayang Bunting is popular for its stunning freshwater lake that is surrounded by hills and rainforests.

The tou is a safe as guests will each be provided with a lifejacket and a pair of aqua boots. There is also a safety briefing.

TREETOP CHALLENGE

The Skytrex Adventure Langkawi, located within the pristine enclosure of Burau Bay, is a place for you to dare yourself especially if you're afraid of heights.

It offers three routes — Little Legend for children, Eagle Thrill which is an intermediate and the advanced Island Extreme.

Try the advance challenge that has over 30 challenges, from climbing nets to  swinging and flying fox.

The hardest part is probably climbing a vertical flight of stairs. But for us is the X Bridge that is hanging 20m above ground!

SCENIC ZIPLINING

Want a thrilling but a relaxing kind of adventure? Head to Umgawa, Langkawi's zipline activity that will take you fly through treetops of the earth's oldest rainforest.

There's not many challenges at Umgawa. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the scenic view while zipping along the way.

There are 12 ziplines, including two long ziplines with one of them s and three bridges which include two long ziplines and one takes off at 200m above the ground crossing the stunning Seven Wells Waterfalls (Telaga Tujuh).

Umgawa offers two adventure tours — the Jungle Flight (an hour adventure consisting of six ziplines and one bridge) and Waterfall Adventure which is longer and has more thrilling challenges.

Both courses are fully guided and covered by insurance. The best part is that you can ask for a pro-photographer (provided by Umgawa) to join ypu throughout the journey. Safety gear and helmet are provided too.
