KUALA LUMPUR: If you're into photography with a human interest kind of genre, make your way to the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTic) in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur for the Islamic photography exhibition currently on going there.
The month-long exhibition, which was oficiated by Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz yesterday, features photographs on the Islamic life in Malaysia.
"It's about how Islam is practised here, from the day we were born, how we live till the day we die, it's all portrayed in the exhibition," said 'Al-Jamal: The Beauty of Islam in Malaysia' photography project leader, Dr Muhammad Yamin Ismail.
He said Al-Jamal means beauty that protrays the element of humble, balance and tolerance.
A total of 20 photographers were involved in the exhibition, with a total of 80 photographs on display.
Meanwhile, MaTic director Zain Azrai Rashid said the exhibition is also a platform for local photographers to showcase their talent, and it is also a way to make MaTic a venue for creative arts.
The exhibition is one of the initiatives of the national Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) with co-operations from MaTic, Street 2 Street Malaysia, Institut Profesional Baitulmal, Federal Territories Religious Council, Perlis Islamic Affairs and Malay Customs Council, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and Universiti Selangor (Unisel).
The exhibition will end on June 30, 2017.
