Celebrate George Town Unesco World Heritage Day with Airbnb

GEORGE TOWN in Penang was designated World Heritage status by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) on July 7, 2008.

The award placed a spotlight on George Town’s cultural heritage, history and landscape.

In recognition of the award, July 7 was marked as George Town World Heritage Day and with celebrations this weekend, locals and guests can expect heritage trails, site excursions and a street festival full of colour and energy.
