We tried recreating three 'amazeballs' dishes from Gegaria Fest; and here are the results

KUALA LUMPUR: Apart from the heaps of fun activity booths, games, and a star-studded concert, Gegaria Fest also features mouth-watering food that is both unique and most importantly, truly local.

Inspired by the photos of the food served at the festival that have made their rounds on social media, the fine folks from Says.com’s Seismik recreated some of the delightful fare.

1. Tajima Burger

This unique burger’s patty is essentially a special marinated-then-roasted chicken thigh. This flavour feast is then complemented with chilli sauce and mayonnaise.

What is more interesting is that the bun for this burger is steamed first, before it is toasted, to achieve a specific soft-inside-crisp-outside texture.

2. Ayam Goreng Kunyit Mat Rock

The classic turmeric battered fried chicken chunks is everyone’s favourite. Seismik’s version of the crowd pleaser is done using corn starch and turmeric powder; and served with extra spicy ‘sambal.’

Cendol Durian

What happens when you take two of the best, most amazing food and combine it? Yes magic happens. Gegaria inspired cooking session will not be complete without attempting to re-create this magical dessert.

This epic concoction combines concentrated palm sugar or gula Melaka with coconut cream syrup, cendol, sweet corn, red bean and the king of fruits: Durian!

14 April 2018: Amanjaya Mall, Sungai Petani, Kedah
