SEREMBAN: APPEARANCES by Negri Sembilan celebrities will prove to be a draw for visitors to the GegaRia Festival 2018 #KitaOK at Dataran Centrio in Seremban 2 here today.
The lifestyle and entertainment festival, organised by Media Prima Bhd (MPB), has recorded 140,000 visitors in five locations.
New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd (NSTP) special projects and advertising customer service manager Mohammad Anis Abdullah said this edition of the festival was expected to draw 25,000 visitors.
He said like its previous editions, the festival was divided into five zones — Food, Lifestyle, Entertainment, Community and the Throwback Tunnel.
“From 8am, the public can participate in a Zumba session at the main stage, led by fitness trainer Izzat Zin, who is from Negri Sembilan.
“Those with children can enrol their kids in a colouring contest, which will feature a special appearance by (animated character) Ejen Ali.
“Visitors can obtain information on health, family, career, beauty and fashion, as well as Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) success stories, from panellists such as Datin Diana Danielle, Naz Rahman, Dr Say, Hanif Shaw, Nana Al-Haleq, Elfira Loy, Faizdickie and Wani Kayrie, as well as celebrity couple Scha Al-Yahya and Awal Ashaari at the Lifestyle Zone, which is open from 11am to 5pm.
“What’s special about this leg of the festival is a series of evening performances by Izzue Islam, Orkes A. Hizadin and Gerhana Skacinta, apart from a meet the fans session with Reen Rahim, Eyka Farhana and Bunkface,” he said.
The Throwback Tunnel will showcase the history of electronic media in a custom-built container with media equipment from Sri Pentas.
Anis said other attractions include cooking demonstrations, food trucks, as well as services offered through the Community Zone.
“Gamers are not left out, as games on PlayStation 4, Nintendo and Xbox consoles will be available.
“As for competitive eSports, a collaboration between MyGameOn and Garena will see a Fifa Online 3 tournament hosted, with cash prizes of up to RM10,000 up for grabs.”
He said the pinnacle of the event was the Konsert #GegaRia at the main stage, which would feature Noh Salleh, Waris, Kugiran Masdo and Bunkface.
