Chong Wei not bothered by critics

Datuk Lee Chong Wei, will not allow critics to affect his concentration on the task ahead of him which is to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Chong Wei, who suffered two early exits at the recent Japan and Korea Opens, believes he is only answerable to himself and the country.

"The two early exits were surely one of my worst performance in my entire career, but losing sometimes is normal in sports.

"I have begun training and I'm looking forward to good outings at the upcoming Denmark Open (Oct 13-18) and the French Open (Oct 20-25).

"There have been a lot of comments going around after my recent defeats, but I am not playing for anyone. I play for myself and for my country," said Chong Wei today, after signing with Petaling Jaya BC for the 2016 Purple League that starts in November.

Chong Wei, is also expecting to break into the world top 10 by the end of the year. The 33-year-old who is making a return following an eight-month doping suspension is now ranked No 23.
