Operations at Subang airport resume as visibility improves

KUALA LUMPUR: Flight operations at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah airport in Subang resumed this evening, after being shut down for some two hours due to low visibility.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd corporate communications general manager Nik Anis Nik Zakaria told the New Straits Times that the runway reopened at 7.45pm following improvement in visibility.

"Passengers are advised to check with their airlines on flight schedule for confirmation," she said.

Earlier, Department of Civil Aviation director-general Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said all flights landing at the airport were cancelled at 4,35pm when visibility dipped to 500m, due to haze.

All flights operated by Firefly and Malindo operating out of the airport were also cancelled.
