WALK OF HOPE FOR PROSTHESES CENTRE

PETALING JAYA: About 1,100 people participated in a 7km walkathon to raise awareness of the plight of amputees in Malaysia. The event also doubled as a fundraiser for the Limbs For Life Prostheses Centre.

The Walk of Hope, organised by Bandar Utama Dhamma Duta Youth (Buddy) in support of Limbs For Life, was sponsored by property developer See Hoy Chan Sdn Bhd.

The walkathon was held at Bandar Utama here recently.

See Hoy Chan employees participated in the walkathon and donated RM176,720 to Limbs For Life for the production, fitting and maintenance of prosthetic legs.

See Hoy Chan Sdn Bhd group executive director, Teo Chiang Khai, presented the mock cheque to the chairman of Limbs For Life, Chiam Swee Ann.

Over the years, See Hoy Chan has consistently supported local charities.

Since 2002, the company has donated RM2.6 million through fundraisers.
