Gold futures end easier

KUALA LUMPUR: Gold futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower yesterday despite sharp overnight gains on New York Commodity Exchange gold futures.

July, August, September and October 2014 fell 15 ticks each to RM137.10, RM137.40, RM137.55 and RM138.05 a gramme respectively.

The physical gold rose 23 sen to RM132.60 a gramme from RM132.37 a gramme.

In London, spot gold gained 0.1 per cent to US$1,335.90 by 1359GMT, but off the previous day’s peak of US$1,345, its highest peak since mid-March. US gold fell US$2 to US$1,337.20. Agencies
