KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit closed higher against the US dollar today, lifted by continued buying support for the local unit, dealers said.
At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.1755/1785 per US dollar against Wednesday's 3.1870/1890.
The local unit was also traded firmer against other major currencies.
It appreciated against the Singapore dollar to 2.5580/5625 from yesterday’s 2.5648/5685 and gained against the yen to 3.1286/1325 from Wednesday’s 3.1331/1357 close.
The ringgit also strengthened against the British pound to 5.4336/4397 from 5.4568/4618 on Wednesday and improved against the euro to 4.2984/3031 from yesterday’s 4.3158/3192.-- Bernama
