Ringgit eases against US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit closed softer against the US dollar and other major currencies as sentiment was affected by the crash of a Ma-laysian jetliner in the Ukraine-Russia border, a currency trader said.

The ringgit was quoted at 3.1820/1850 against Thursday’s 3.1755/1785. It traded mostly lower against other major currencies.

The local note fell against the Singapore dollar to 2.5632/5659 from Thursday’s 2.5580/5625 and depreciated against the yen to 3.1365/1407 from 3.1286/1325.

It eased against the British pound to 5.4450/4505 from Thursday’s 5.4336/4397 and edged down against the euro to 4.3059/3109 from 4.2984/3031 previously. Bernama
