Pork-free cafe offers tasty local dishes

IPOH: THE newly opened Eastana Cafe serves mostly Malaysian cuisine.

The pork-free cafe, which is located in Astana Hotel, offers dishes from the different states, including kampung fried rice from Perak, nasi lemak from Perak, mee rebus from Johor, Mamak-style fried mee from Penang and laksa utara from Penang.

The cafe also serves some western dishes. For starters, there’s fresh garden salad, egg salad, grilled chicken ham salad and grilled prawn salad.

Among its main signature dishes are spaghetti, beef Bolognese, chicken chop, chicken ham and mushroom carbonara and, fish and chips.

The cafe offers ala carte dishes for lunch and dinner daily.

Chef Norizan Shaarl said the cafe also caters for functions, birthday parties and annual dinners. Buffet is available on Saturdays.

The hotel is in Bandar Ipoh Raya.
