Gold end nears five-week low

KUALA LUMPUR: Gold futures contracts closed lower yesterday on lack of buying support. Phillip Futures dealer Low Cheng Yang said the gold futures closed at a near a five-week low.

At the close, July 2014, August 2014, September 2014, and October 2014 fell 10 ticks each to RM132.35 a gramme, RM132.60, RM132.75, and RM133.25 a gramme, respectively.

The physical gold price lost RM0.38 sen to RM127.65 from RM128.03 previously.

In London, spot gold was up by 0.2 per cent at US1,295.11 by 1224GMT while, US gold rose US$4.40 to close at US$1,295.10 an ounce. Agencies
