Ousting Khalid a mistake, says PKR man

PKR grassroots leader has urged the party leadership to come clean with the real motive behind the plans to remove Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim as Selangor’s menteri besar.

Mokhtar Razak Badri, a committee member in the Serdang PKR division, said the decision to oust Khalid by replacing him with PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail was a “mistake”.

“What mistakes were committed by Khalid for him to be ousted?” he asked yesterday.

Mokhtar urged PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to explain whether his wife, Dr Wan Azizah, held the credentials to succeed Khalid as menteri besar.

“Is her track record better than Khalid’s? I would also like to know the rationale behind his removal when the state government is being managed in a fine and stable manner,” he said.

Mokhtar, who is also the president of Suara Akar Umbi Keadilan, also launched a broadside against Dr Wan Azizah for remaining silent on the matter.

“What have been her contributions to the party and what statements have she issued to clarify the matter? Is it also true that Anwar often meddles in her political affairs?”

The developments come as Khalid has come under increasing pressure from within his own party and Pakatan to quit his post as menteri besar.
