Mh17: Sarawak govt to assist the families of Sarawakian victims says CM

KUCHING: Sarawak government to channel assistances to the families of the Malaysia Airlines MH17 victims in the state.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem said a cabinet meeting will be held after Hari Raya celebrations to further discuss on the issue.

"I will call for a meeting after this to see what we can do for them and we will do our best," said Adenan during his Hari Raya open house event at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here.

"We share their sadness during this festive season and hope they stay strong," he said.

Meanwhile, Land Development Minister Tan Sri James Jemut Masing said all the prayers should meant for both MH17 and MH370.

"We shall not forget the families and loved ones of MH370, where they have not known the fact of the ill-fated plane," Masing said.

"For MH17, at least we knew it was crashed and the government is putting so much efforts to bring back the remains and seek for justice. As for MH370, we don't even know where they are and what happened to them," he added.

Earlier, Adenan and his wife Puan Sri Jamilah Anu arrived at 10:30am to welcome guests from all walks of life.

The open house event began at 10.30am to 4pm and will be held for two days. However, the celebrations this year has been organised in a simple and smaller scale out of respect for the victims abroad MH17.
