KL shares end easier

KUALA LUMPUR: Share prices on Bursa Malaysia closed lower today, weighed down by losses in selected blue-chips and heavyweights as well as lack of fresh leads.

At 5 pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 6.98 points to 1,871.36, after moving between 1,866.47 and 1,882.07 throughout the day.

The Finance Index fell 29.09 points to 17,342.36, Industrial Index eased

29.5 points to 3,229.77 and the Plantation Index slipped 89.44 points to

8,972.19.

The FBM Emas Index was 40.14 points lower to 13,085.7, FBMT100 Index shed 40.18 points to 12,651.62, FBM 70 slipped 18.78 points to 14,378.91 and the FBM Ace depreciated 40.71 points to 7,044.62.

Loser thumped gainers by 515 to 349, with 319 counters unchanged, 452

untraded and 39 others suspended.

Total volume increased to 2.51 billion units valued at RM2.52 billion from

2.11 billion units valued at RM2.30 billion yesterday. -- Bernama
