3-D projection enlivens fashion show

GEORGE TOWN: THE Queensbay Mall brought fashion show to a new level by incorporating live 3-D projection art created by students from The One Academy college Penang.

The runway, during the one of the shows at the four-day event, featured a large backdrop with live animation, produced on-the-spot by the students.

The multi-coloured doodles awed the audience who comprised mostly shoppers.

Queensbay Mall marketing communications manager Wendy Wong said the mall aimed to bring fashion shows.

“This way, we are transforming a mundane runway backdrop into a giant canvas to engage shoppers and make them stop, take a look and enjoy the show,” said Wong.

Apart from the fashion show, a question-and-answer session was held to give shoppers a chance to win some interesting prizes.

Goo Rhui Syan, 22, one of the artists who took part in the live doodling, said it was a wonderful experience.

“It is a great platform for me to showcase my talent and skills,” she said.

The fashion shows featured brands available at the mall, including Braun Buffel, Esprit, Obermain, GAP, The Executive, Tiamo, Elle and Springfield.
