PETALING JAYA: Chaos and confusion ensued after two contradicting press statements were issued at the Selangor PKR press conference for the new state Menteri Besar.
The first 'official' statement indicated the support by Selangor PKR for Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the new MB while the later statement said that there are two candidates including Gombak MP cum Bukit Antarabangsa Azmin Ali.
Before the press conference began, the 'official' statement was distributed to the press but it was later retracted because of an 'error'.
After the press conference had finished, press members were handed out the amended statement, which raised confusion in the room.
Selangor PKR deputy chairman Zuraida Kamarudin who chaired the press conference refused to comment on the contradicting statements issued.
Zuraidah had asked the person, who distributed the other statement to come forward but he was no where to be found.
"The deputy president (Azmin) has the right to make his own statement over the issue.
" PKR Selangor supports Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail as the state Menteri Besar.
"PKR Selangor hope that Selangor MB Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim will withdraw from his post gracefully," she said.
