KL shares higher mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR: The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) remained higher at mid-morning today in tandem with its regional peers with more than two billion shares changing hands, dealers said.

At 11.21am, the FBM KLCI stood at 1,874.08, up 1.92 points, after opening firmer at 1,8874.35.

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index slipped 28.43 points to 17,410.74, the Industrial Index gained 15.59 points to 3,279.01 and the Plantation Index depreciated 8.38 points to 8,780.5.

The FBM Emas Index improved 2.98 points to 13,112.58, the FBMT100 Index increased 5.49 points to 12,666.68, FBM 70 slipped 22.51 points to 14,383.35 and the FBM Ace dropped 89.59 points to 7,230.74.

Losers led gainers 421 to 278, with 950 counters unchanged and 21 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 2.79 lots billion shares worth RM937 million.

For the heavyweights, Maybank was unchanged at RM10.08, Public Bank gained two sen to RM19.36 and Tenaga was flat at RM12.40.

Among actives, Glotec gained 2.0 sen for 12.5 sen, Marco Holdings inched up two sen to 25.5 sen and PDZ Holdings perked 2.5 sen to 40 sen.-- Bernama
