Let Khalid finish term in office, say NGOs

SHAH ALAM: A group of 12 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) yesterday expressed support for Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to be maintained as Selangor Menteri Besar even though he lost the majority support of Selangor’s assemblymen.

Angkatan Rakyat Sedar (Aras) president Abdul Rahim Abdul Wahab said Khalid had made many positive changes in the state by adopting a different approach in politics and administrative style.

Khalid should be allowed to finish his term as MB and mould a successor to take over after the 14th General Election, Rahim said at a press conference attended by representatives of other NGOs.

Producing capable state-level leaders was important, he said, adding that anyone who wanted to replace Khalid should ensure that he or she had good, solid policies that were better than Khalid’s.
