KL shares marginally higher mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR: The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was marginally higher at mid-morning, bolstered by finance-linked counters, dealers said.

At 10.59am, the key index stood at 1,875.42, up 0.61 of a point, after opening higher at 1,876.22.

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index rose 20.88 points to 17,496.461, the Industrial Index declined 16.82 point to 3,252.56 and the Plantation Index perked up 8.4 points to 8,705.33

The FBM Emas Index edged up 8.39 points to 13,107.07, FBMT100 Index increased 5.28 points to 12,677.2, FBM 70 climbed 10.42 points to 14,363.81 but the FBM Ace shed 8.05 points to 7,064.65.

Losers led gainers 325 to 293 while 1,027 counters were unchanged.

Turnover stood at 1.51 billion shares worth RM597.8 million.

Heavyweights, Maybank, Public bank and Tenaga all added two sen each at RM10.08, RM19.36 and RM12.48, respectively.

Among actives, Hubline was flat at 55 sen, Sumatec declined two sen to 50 sen and PDZ eased half a sen to 35.5 sen.-- Bernama
