Rubber prices end higher

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian rubber market closed higher today for the third day, tracking the perfomance on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), a dealer said.

A dealer said TOCOM rubber futures were probably on course to post their biggest weekly gains since June.

"In the meantime, natural rubber prices in the overseas market are seen inching up today," he said.

At the close, the Malaysian Rubber Board's official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 earned 3.5 sen to 520 sen a kg while latex-in-bulk eased 0.5 sen to 417.5 sen a kg.

The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 rose 5.0 sen to 521 sen a kg while latex-in-bulk declined one sen to 417 sen a kg.-- Bernama
