IPOH: Former Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Nizar Jamaluddin has been charged with defamation at the Session's court here today.
The Changkat Jering assemblyman claimed trial after the charge was read out to him.
He was alleged to have defamed the Prime Minister during a speech on April 23 2012 between 9pm and midnight at Taman Desa Pakatan.
Session judge Madihah Harullah fixed bail at RM4,000 with one surety and Sept 26 for mention.
