KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit closed lower against the US dollar yesterday as investors shifted their interest to the greenback, a dealer said.
At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.1490/1510 against the greenback from 3.1455/1475 on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the local unit was traded lower against other major currencies.
The ringgit declined against the yen to 3.0346/0371 from Wednesday’s 3.0271/0294 and eased against the euro to 4.1583/1622 from 4.1464/1493 previously.
Against the British pound, it also depreciated to 5.2261/2297 from 5.2099/2141 on Wednesday and fell against the Singapore dollar to 2.5240/5259 from 2.5210/5230 previously. Bernama
