All about Trainor

BORN on Dec 22, 1993, Meghan Elizabeth Trainor gained prominence with All About That Bass. From Nantucket, Massachusetts, the singer, songwriter, musician and producer has been writing songs since she was 11.

At 17, she attended a songwriter’s exposition where songwriter Al Anderson introduced her to producer Carla Wallace of Big Yellow Dog Music. Trainor signed as a songwriter with that company shortly after her 18th birthday. In 2011, she launched her first mini album, I’ll Sing With You.

She went on several writing trips to Los Angeles, California, New York City and Nashville, Tennessee, where she spent the larger part of her songwriting career.

Trainor has written songs with Rascal Flatts and Sabrina Carpenter, and teamed up with Grammy-nominated producer Kevin Kadish to pen her first hit single All About That Bass.

Producer L A Reid heard Trainor’s song and subsequently signed her to Epic Records.

She will be releasing her debut studio album soon. She cites Christina Aguilera and Frank Sinatra as two of her most prominent musical influences. She also identifies with Trinidad And Tobago music and 1950s American pop. Dennis Chua
