Project manager claims trial to posting offensive tweets against IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: A project manager was charged at the Sessions Court here with posting a tweet calling the Inspector-General of police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar “a ruthless Nazi military commander”.

Wong Hoi Cheng, 43, claimed trial to making a statement meant to humiliate or incite the anger of the IGP and the Malaysian police force through his Twitter account.

Wong was accused with committing the offence at McDonalds in Midvalley Megamall here on Aug 31.

Deputy public prosecutor Mohd Nordin Ismail submitted for a RM7,000 bail with one surety.

Wong's counsel, Arafas Abdul Razak pleaded for a lower bail saying that his client has given full cooperation in the investigation.

Judge Abdul Rashid Daud allowed bail at RM4,000 with one surety and fixed Oct 27 for mention.
