Inaugural content conference

THE inaugural Content Malaysia 2014 will be held at Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur from today to Friday.

Designed to equip local content makers with tools to help maximise their business edge, it also aims to inspire professionals to enhance their industry knowledge, in order to create more business opportunities globally.

The event lines up a host of conferences and dynamic master classes for all Malaysian film and TV industry, audio-visual and content creation professionals.

PROMOTE CONTENT CREATION INDUSTRY

This three-day telco/broadcasting and content event is organised by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia in cooperation with the National Film Development Corporation Malayisa (Finas) and Creative Content Association Malaysia.

The association is dedicated towards supporting and promoting Malaysian content creation industry.

Apart from giving the industry an annual showcasing platform for the inspiration of fresh and transnational creative content, Content Malaysia also aims to position the country as a hub for filming, (co)producing and post-producing for the local industry but more importantly, it is hoped to attract foreign production houses to set up their businesses here.

Participation is free. Topics lined up for the conferences include existing production incentives for filming here, co-production collaborations with international partners, case studies of Made In Malaysia success stories, creating and marketing internationally global content and how to fund such projects. Guest speakers are from key international players of the content industry.

Running concurrently will be the masterclasses, particularly designed for storytelling professionals and other audio-visual topics, all conducted by international experts.

There will also be a series of pitching sessions to initiate new business opportunities for participants. The event will end with a location tour of Pinewood Iskandar Studios in Johor Baru on the final day.
