Pas agrees BN brought development to Pengkalan Kubor

TUMPAT: Kelantan PAS has not denied the existence of development carried out by the federal government in Pengkalan Kubor.

Kelantan PAS deputy secretary-general Datuk Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah said that as a close friend of the late Datuk Noor Zahidi Omar, he respected the efforts made by Noor Zahidi who was a three-term assemblyman.

"We thank the federal government for whatever they have done for Pengkalan Kubor," he told a news conference here today.

Wan Abdul Rahim, who is also PAS Pengkalan Kubor by-election operations director, said this when asked to comment on the issue of development by the federal government which has been looked down on by PAS.

He said PAS realised the existence of development and progress in the area when Pengkalan Kubor was taken over by BN in the 2004 general election.

"Development in Pengkalan Kubor was only enjoyed when BN grabbed the seat from PAS, that was when Noor Zahidi was the state assemblyman," said Wan Abdul Rahim.

He admitted that construction of the Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) and a project to upgrade Jalan Kasban, a road built near Sungai Golok here for flood mitigation were among the projects which benefited the locals. - Bernama
