Flat rate roaming

Cost-effective WiFi for frequent travellers launched here

IF you are an avid traveller, you would certainly want to stay connected with home. Apart from phone calls, social media sites like Facebook, Whatsapp, Skype, WeChat help us to keep in touch via live video calls and voice messages.

But to do so, we need Internet service which may be costly with high roaming charges. One option is to purchase a local sim card. But whether we are using it with a spare phone or just substituting it with our main SIM card, it can be rather troublesome.

Wiyo (pronounced wai-yo) offers cost-effective wireless Internet access on the best available networks. Headquartered in Hong Kong, Wiyo provides international pocket WiFi rental services at a flat daily rate in 25 countries for as low as RM25.

Recently launched here, Wiyo Malaysia provides short-term data rental for outbound Malaysian travellers. Customers can book the pocket WiFi online, by phone or walking into its office at Solaris Dutamas. They are required to pay a deposit. Present to officiate the launch recently in its office in Solaris Dutamas were Wiyo Malaysia director Dent Chan and Wiyo Hong Kong director Gary Crestejo.

The company has appointed Weena Marcus, Miss Malaysia Tourism 2009/2010 (pictured), as Wiyo Malaysia Ambassador. Details at www.wiyo.my or call 017-888 8201.
