GEORGE TOWN: Allianz Malaysia kicked off its blood donation drive at Tesco Seri Tanjung Pinang recently.
Held in conjunction with Malaysia Day, the event will also be held at various locations nationwide until Sept 25.
Allianz Penang branch manager Collin Peter Pereira encouraged the public to commemorate the historic day by helping those in need.
“Donating blood is something we can do to save lives irrespective of one’s ethnic and cultural background,” he said.
Apart from the blood donation drive, Allianz also set up an organ donation booth in collaboration with the National Transplant Resource Centre.
“We hope to create awareness on
the importance of donation organs with this initiative,” said Pereira.
About 40 people turned up for
the blood donation drive, with 18 of them registering as organ donors on the first day. Similar booths were also set up
