KL shares higher mid-afternoon

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia was higher at mid-afternoon today, with buying interest interspersed with minor profit-taking.

At 3pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,852.27 points, up 6.95 point.

Market breadth was positive with gainers outpacing losers by 493 to 253 with 303 counters unchanged, 581 counters untraded and 14 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 1.53 billion shares worth RM916.80 million.

Digi.com and Axiata were flat at RM5.77 and RM6.96 respectively.

FGV Holdings added 13 sen to RM3.65, IHH Healthcare gained nine sen to RM5.10 and Public Bank edged up eight sen to RM19.08.

Of the actively-traded stocks, Samichi went up 1.5 sen to 14 sen and Efficient E-Solutions added three sen to 33.5 sen.

I-Bhd-Loan Rights edged down two sen to 5.5 sen.

The FBM Emas Index surged 61.15 points to 12,341.73, FBMT100 Index rose 56.69 points to 12,528.92 and the FBM Emas Shariah Index gained 62.61 points to 13,198.68.

The FBM 70 jumped 110.95 points to 14,272.91, FBM Ace surged 60.44 points to 7,196.83 while the Finance Index advanced 78.50 points to 17,366.49, the Industrial Index added 6.20 points to 3,208.43 and the Plantation Index added 58.38 points to 8,422.67.-- Bernama
