Big three eye crown

KUALA LUMPUR: Three teams will be battling each other as they look to lift the inaugural Felda Director Cup this weekend.

Terengganu, Kuantan and Gua Musang emerged as champions of their respective groups and with all three sides unbeaten so far, the second round is expected to be a thrilling affair.

Kuantan will host Terengganu today and both sides have made it clear that they will go all out to earn all three points.

“At this stage anything can happen, I believe the team who take their chances will prevail,” said Kuantan coach Zuhari Sulaiman.

“There will be no room for mistakes and the players will have to be on their toes at all times.”

Terengganu will welcome back five regulars who sat out last weekend’s group match with ABF due to injuries.

Coach Mohd Shahrul Abdul Rahman said: “The five have passed their fitness test and are raring for action.”

Favourites Gua Musang will play Kuantan on Sept 28.

Gua Musang coach Tuan Addni Engku Abdul Rahman wants to work on his team’s weaknesses before the match.

“My boys have been playing well but there is still room for improvement and I will use the break to work on certain areas,” he said.

The top two teams will meet in the final.
