Selangor Pas ready to work with new MB

SHAH ALAM: State Pas leaders yesterday welcomed the news of Azmin Ali’s appointment as the new menteri besar.

Its commissioner, Iskandar Abdul Samad, said the party’s stand all this while had been to leave the appointment to Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

“Thus, we accept the appointment of Azmin.”

State Pas secretary Mohd Khairuddin Othman said all Selangor Pas members were ready to assist the new MB in taking the state to greater heights and improving the welfare of the people.

“We offer our congratulations to Azmin and we pray he will be able to carry out his duties well.”

He also expressed hope that the appointment would end the political crisis that had disrupted administration of the state.

“I urge the party’s alliance partners to end the crisis and move forward,” Khairuddin said, while also thanking outgoing MB Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim for his contributions to the state.

Shah Alam member of parliament Khalid Samad said Azmin’s appointment was in line with the decision made by Pas in a meeting on Aug 17.

“This issue has been going on for so long. His appointment is ideal
as we needed a solution so that
we could finally focus on serving the people and fulfilling our promises.”

He urged Azmin to form a consultative and inclusive government and consult with Pakatan partners when making decisions.
