Partnership continues

SPECTATORS at this year’s Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia will be able to enjoy first class entertainment both on and off the fairways following the announcement of a four-day festival that will run alongside the tournament, bringing a carnival atmosphere to the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) when the action returns on Oct 9-12.

The KLGCC will be transformed into a festival destination, complete with live music, street art, a showcase of Malaysian and international cuisine, health and beauty treatments, and fun activities for everyone to enjoy.

It will all be for a good cause as the tournament looks to boost its annual contribution to official charitable partner, Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation (CARIF).

A key feature of the festivities will be Ladies Day (Friday), Pink Saturday and Family Day (Sunday), each with its own distinct character, designed to appeal to different sectors of the community.

Developed in conjunction with the tournament’s fifth year anniversary celebrations, the initiative has been created to ensure that one of Malaysia’s premier sporting events continues to extend its appeal well beyond sports enthusiasts to families as well as the capital’s festival loving audience.

Steven Thielke, KLGCC general manager, said: “2014 marks an important milestone for the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia which we want to celebrate in a way that benefits as broad a section of the community as possible.”

To ensure that it lives up to its billing as one of Malaysia’s top lifestyle events this October, organisers are working with some of Malaysia’s most recognised names to curate the festival. One such talent is Danish-Malaysian model, DJ and television host Patricia Knudsen who, in addition to performing a set live on the Sound Stage, is an official ambassador for this year’s tournament.

Entry to the Poolside Fiesta is free of charge to tournament ticket holders. Two tickets to the Ladies Lunch cost RM500 or a table of four can be purchased for RM1,000 via www.ticketpro.com.my, with all proceeds going to CARIF.

Tickets for the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2014 are available at www.ticketpro.com.my, Ticketpro outlets and Ticketpro hotline on 03-78807999.
