A walk to combat cancer

KUALA LUMPUR: In conjunction with World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pantai Hospital Cheras (PHC) will be organising the PHC Pink Umbrella Walk 2014 on Oct 18.

The walk will take place from PHC to Cheras Leisure Mall.

Tickets for this walk are sold at RM25 per participant. Each participant receive a pink umbrella. Proceeds will be channelled to Yayasan Sin Chew’s female cancer patients.

PHC is anticipating 300 people to participate in the walk, which will be officiated by the Women, Family and Community Development deputy minister Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun.

The event is aimed to create awareness among the public on the importance of early detection to fight cancer.

Upon reaching Cheras Leisure Mall, there will be a dance performance by PHC nurses at the lower ground Concourse Stage (McDonald’s side). PHC will also have a health booth at the mall for counselling.
