Wushu athlete to challenge positive dope test at highest level

INCHEON: Malaysia's Asian Games chef-de-mission pledged to pursue Tai Cheau Xuen's positive dope test to the Court of Arbitration for Sports.

Datuk Danyal Balagopal Abdullah believes there are irregularities with wushu gold medalist Cheau Xuen's sample and wants to challenge it.

"We are going to challenge this at CAS," he said today in Incheon.

"I believe there is no doping case here. I don't think she did it."

CAS is the last arbitrator for issues relating to sports and it's decisions are final.

Earlier, the Olympic Council of Asia announced that Cheau Xuen had been stripped of her nanquan-nandao gold medal won on Sept 20 after her urine test came back positive for the banned stimulant sibutramine.
