Ringgit ends higher against US$

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit closed higher against the US dollar yesterday, supported by some interventions from Bank Negara Malaysia to control further sell-off, said a dealer.

At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.2720/2750 against the greenback from 3.2790/2820 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the local unit was also traded higher against other major currencies.

The ringgit rose against the yen to 2.9789/9830 from Tuesday’s 2.9929/9959 and appreciated against the British pound to 5.2934/2993 from 5.3235/3293 previously.

It was higher versus the Singapore dollar to 2.5661/5686 from 2.5730/5763 on Tuesday and gained against the euro to 4.1227/1268 from 4.1509/1557. Bernama
