Council provides homes for two poor families

KULAIJAYA: After almost 30 years, Paridah Mat Yassin, 57, and her four children finally have a home of their own.

They have been staying with her younger brother.

Paridah thanked the state government and other parties for helping them to get their house in Kampung Baru Sedenak.

“Having a place to call our own makes this the happiest day of my life,” she said.

She received the key from Kulai Municipal Council (MPKu) president Abdul Rahman Salleh.

A couple with five children also received the key to a house which was built at a cost of RM45,000.

Jumaat Mohd Sahid, 46, and Suhaila Abdul Wahab, 43, from Kelapa Sawit, near here, said the house was a timely gift because Hari Raya Aidiladha was coming.

“The house where we live now is always in danger of being flooded during downpours,” Jumaat said.

Rahman said MPKu had built four more houses for the poor.

“The local council will also help the hardcore poor with their rent and house repairs,” he said. By Mohd Fahmi Mohd Yusof
