Rubber gains despite decline in Tokyo

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian rubber market closed higher yesterdaydespite the lower performance on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), a dealer said.

The dealer said it was also reported that trade was slowing down going forward as investors digested China’s third quarter gross domestic product data released yesterday.

At the close, the Malaysian Rubber Board's official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 earned 3.5 sen to 500.50 sen a kg and latex-in-bulk increased two sen to 385.00 sen a kg.

The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 rose 0.5 sen to 501 sen a kg and latex-in-bulk rose 0.5 sen to 385.50 sen a kg. Bernama
