ALOR STAR: Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir said Kedah would be exporting its dried food products to Johor first followed by other products.
"This is because the dried food will be more cost effective as there is no need for air conditioned containers.
"We will start with this and in meantime entrepreneurs in the state should start thinking of creative and innovative ideas to market their product outside the state.
"We may take our products for granted but a lot of products from Kedah are gaining popularity outside the state such as the ' ikan perkasam' for example," he added.
Mukhriz also said that a distribution centre would be set up in the near future to market the products.
He was speaking at the launch of the Ikhtiar Entrepreneurship Club in Air Hitam at Wisma Umno in Jerlun today.
