KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak's weightlifter Jelinie Em Pera has been banned for two years for a doping offence in the Malaysia Games in Perlis in June.
The Malaysian Weightlifting Federation (MWF) at a hearing in Kuala Lumpur today, found her guilty, and demanded that Jelinie, who won two gold, and was named the Female Athlete of the Games, must return both medals, the award and the RM3,000 and RM12,000 cash prizes she received from the games organisers and the Sarawak State Sports Council.
Perlis’ weightlifter Siti Fazera Ishak, who did not win any medals at the Malaysia Games, was also found guilty of doping at doping's hearing and banned for two years.
