PETALING JAYA: Young women will not only get a chance to hone their competitive skills but also pick up some healthy breakfast tips by competing in the Nestle Fitnesse netball carnival on Nov 8 at the De Kelana Hall, MBPJ Sports Complex in Kelana Jaya.

Supported by SportsUnite Sports Club and the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), the carnival is to promote sports and wellness amongst young women.

The carnival logo was recently jointly launched by MBPJ deputy secretary Ahmat Mohaayen Said, Nestle Fitnesse brand executive Aza Baizura Morni and SportsUnite Sports Club chairman Datuk Dina Rizal.

“I hope this carnival will enhance good friendships and fellowship amongst teams. Besides relieving the pressures of daily life, sports too helps promote discipline, good health, self-confidence, and most important of all, in line with spirit of this carnival, is the camaraderie amongst the participants," said Ahmat Mohaayen.

The carnival is open to the first 18 teams to register on a first come, first serve basis. Entry fee is RM30 per team with all players receiving t-shirts.

The champions will receive RM1,500 in prize money, the runners-up R1,000, third RM700 and fourth RM500.

The top four teams will also receive medals and Nestle Fitnesse hampers.

“Nestle Fitnesse fully supports initiatives that help promote healthy lifestyles and sports. Sports not only enhances one’s physical and mental strength but more importantly, sports is a great teacher of life’s values like teamwork, dedication, fellowship, confidence, and sportsmanship.

“Sports build strength of character and personality to face life’s challenges with greater confidence.

“We look forward to working closely with MBPJ and SportsUnite to bring this exciting netball carnival to young women,” said Aza Baizura.
